What counts as beginner-friendly
A course is beginner-friendly when its official page says it is designed for newcomers or requires no prior experience. A course that simply does not list requirements is not necessarily suitable.
Check these before you start
- Stated audience. Does the page say who the course is for?
- Prerequisites. Is any programming or mathematics expected?
- Time. What is the real teaching time per week and in total?
- Credential. Is there a certificate, who issues it, and does it carry credit?
- Cost model. Free audit, free access with a paid certificate, subscription or one-off fee are different things.
- Support. Are there instructors, feedback or a community?
Where to start
Short courses and introductory university courses are common first steps. If you want an academic path later, check whether a course carries credit that can count toward a program.
